We’re working to understand what holds back innovation in mental wellbeing and how we can create a more enabling environment for success.
We’re integrating and learning with Tikanga Māori and indigenous models of innovation to:
Build relationships with others that care about mental wellbeing innovation
Bring people together to share learning, insights and connect
Understand the current environment
Prototype how we can shift this system
Connect
We are bringing together founders and innovators to connect, share and support each other. It’s a chance to be part of the wider movement of change.
Innovation Challenges
We are exploring how to bring together founders, talented people, companies, funders, researchers, and citizens to solve pressing mental wellbeing problems.
Support
We are prototyping specialist support for a small number of mental wellbeing startups. We’re testing how to meet their unique support needs and amplify this with ecosystem supporters.
Learn and Advocate
We are learning about the people and organisations that are already working in mental wellbeing innovation, or intend to start. We’ll amplify our learnings and the voices of innovators to change our systems.
We’re currently working with:
M3 Mindfulness for Children
M3 Mindfulness for Children is a bi-lingual social and emotional learning programme that shares Mindfulness through the telling of Māori narratives and Movement with the whole school community – teachers, students, and parents. Ember Innovations has gifted a tested model of resilience development for rangatahi to M3, who are adopting, enhancing and scaling the programme across Aotearoa.
Southern Wellbeing Trust
Created during 2020 to support the emerging needs of the Queenstown Lakes Community post-COVID, the Trust is working to create a model for the future of Aotearoa's community health system that is rooted in community, connection, and collaboration. Ember Innovations is supporting their early stage growth with tailored mentoring and support.
